Acharaya Charaka has particularly said it as an awesome Ayurvedic Rasayana (Rejuvenator). 100 gm of Amlaki (Amla) gives about 700 mg ofvitamin which is 20 times higher than what is found in an orange. Most recent researches demonstrate that Vit. C exhibit in Amla is not as a free Vit. C, yet in a Complex form. Emblicanins, the dynamic element of Amla constitutes Gallic corrosive or Ellagic acids structures joined to the Vit. C. Amla contains more than 80 percent more protein, minerals, sugars and fibre. The mineral and vitamin substance incorporate calcium, phosphorus, iron, carotene and vitamin B complex. Regardless of the possibility that dried in shade, Amlaki holds a lot of its vitamin C. The leaves and bark of the tree are rich in tannin.
